Born on the 16th August 1968 Mr Arvind Kejriwal is just the right age to enter politics . He
is sauve, intelligent educated, is a progressive thinker and seems to have a
passion for whatever he does.
He was Joint Commissioner of Income Tax and a no nonsense
officer who was feared by the corrupt.
He was awarded the Magsaysay award for Emergent Leadership
and used the prize money for a good cause
Joining Anna Hazare was a stroke of genius which propelled
him along with a few others into the limelight. Thereafter his career graph
zoomed and he has had a meteoric rise to fame and glory since then.
Has it been too easy and too fast – only time will tell.
As of now I respect the man- who, without much ado , formed
the Aam Admi party, motivated them and destroyed the Congress in Delhi by defeating the seasoned Sheila Dixit .
So far, so good. The future for the country and for him
looks bright. Or doesit?
However there is a big difference between running a movement
and running a party or a goverment
So what is Arvind Kejriwal all about ??
A Super ambitious politician?
An overhyped crusader
A super Mr Clean
A breath of fresh air for India ?
Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, just a few thoughts.
Have you heard of Maulana Tauqueer Raza – if you have not-
do read up on him. Interesting connection with Mr Kejriwal . Did he actually need to go to Bareilly to
meet him? Was it a stunt to garner votes from a minority group?
Anna Hazare has accused him of misusing funds in 2011 that
were actually collected for the pro Jan Lokpall movement – is this a fact ? Is
Hazare lying ? Do we believe him or the new CM?
The vision document of Mr Kejirwal is also a trifle amusing
and very very ambitious – was it off the
cuff or did some thought process go into the implementation
The Lokpal bill will be passed within 10 days of taking office.
People will decide the prices of all commodities. (Has he
any idea of economics)
Any person of Indian origin can lodge a complaint against
any leader and a thorough investigation will be made. (OMG this surely must be
a joke)
He will not live in the CM’s accommodation nor will he or
any MP or MLA have red lights (beacons) on their cars.( Good news but let’s see
how long it lasts)
All expenses and accounts will be put up for scrutiny on the
party website. (Will business houses that donate money like or allow this)
All cases of corruption will be solved within 2 years (the
backlog at the moment is 20 – 40 years in a number of cases)
All citizens will be given good health care facilities (easier
said than done)
Good education for all (who pays for this )
A certain amount of free water and free electricity for
Delhi residents (where does the money come from and can this be sustained)
Farmers will be given good prices
for their goods (although the people will decide prices)
The common citizens will have the
right to participate in the formulation of policies and laws .
No government money will be used
without the will of the people
I read the above and wondered.
Does Mr Kejriwal know that the
Congress are giving support from the outside and that there WILL BE AN
OPPOSITION PARTY waiting to cut him to size !
As of now ,everybody is rooting for the man
and why won’t they – much is being expected of him. He is simple and humble –
he is THE AAM ADMI and the tabloids and the TV stations can’t stop talking
about him .
Even people with no clue and no
interest in politics get all excited when he appears on Television . He is
being discussed by all and sundry. Here is the perfect solution to all the country’s
ills.
A number of silly statements about a
new resurgence of India are being passed. All and sundry have already decided
to join the party – he is being compared to a young Mahatma Gandhi .
These are early days and we are
talking about a man who has very little ,if any ,experience of politics and
what it entails.
We all hope and pray for a miracle
because that is what the country needs right now
Meanwhile I have been reading
Shakespeare and here are some of my favourite lines ………..
“And, to speak truth of Caesar
I have not known when his affections
swayed
More than his reason.
But ’tis a common proof
That lowliness is young ambition’s
ladder,
Whereto the climber upward turns his
face.
But when he once attains the upmost
round,
He then unto the ladder turns his
back,
Looks in the clouds, scorning the
base degrees
By which he did ascend. So Caesar
may.”
And these well-known lines left me thinking …………………… !!!!!!
Go Mr Kejirwal ………………………

Sir
I personally feel that Indians are not looking for any miracles from him but any small improvement which betters the system will be seen as a miracle
