Lest They May Sting
A
tirade against ministers with apologies to the Bard of Avon – William
Shakespeare.
Marcus
Brutus in Julius Caesar –
We
must not elect them, though for my part
I
know no personal cause to spurn them,
But
for the obvious
They
desire to be elected Ministers.
How
that might change their nature, is the question.
It
is the election result that may bring forth the serpent in them.
And
then all of us will be in danger.
For
they may sting at will.
The
abuse of greatness is when it disjoins
Remorse
from Power
And
to speak truthfully of our elected representative,
Most
of them have mastered this art.
It
is common proof that
Lowliness
is young ambition’s ladder
Where-
to the climber upwards turn his face
But
once his ambition is realized and he is elected,
He
then will turn his back on the ladder
and
set his sights on greener and higher pastures
So
our Ministers may
Then,
lest they may – we must prevent !
Since,
at this juncture our evidence is based on conjecture,
Fashion
it thus:-
What
they are – augmented
Will
be sufficient to make them tyrants
Therefore,
think of them as a serpent’s egg
Which,
hatched would definitely be a potential danger
Therefore,
take no risk – smash the egg
And hope for better times thereafter
